Cynthia Ashperger

Teaching: Centers of Imagination

Dr. Cynthia Ashperger is an actor, director, producer and writer. At Ryerson School of Performance she teaches acting and is the head of the Acting Program (www.ryerson.ca, www.cynthiaashperger.com). She has taught, published and lectured on Michael Chekhov’s Acting Technique nationally and internationally. 2013 she was nominated for a Dora Award for outstanding female performance in Feral Child by J.Tannahill and in 2016 she was nominated for Canadian Screen Award for her performance in The Waiting Room by I. Drljaca. Most recently she has directed Peace by V.H. Huston. Her comedy Tongue Play will be presented Parodos festival at Ryerson School of Performance in June of 2017.
