ELAINA MARTIN

Elaina Martin is an award-winning producer, director, and community arts leader with more than 30 years of experience in live events, festivals, and cultural programming. For over two decades, she owned and operated her own production company, producing events and working with artists across the cultural sector.

Elaina is best known as the founder and producer of WESTFEST, Ottawa’s free multidisciplinary arts festival, which she led for 17 years, presenting hundreds of Canadian artists and creating an accessible and inclusive celebration of arts and culture.

Her contributions have been recognized with the City of Ottawa’s Victor Tolgesy Arts Award and the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for her tireless work to advance equity and inclusion in the arts.

Throughout her career, Elaina has developed a care-centred approach to producing, grounded in equity, inclusion, accessibility, mentorship, and respect for artists and their communities.

She is currently a producer with Volcano, working on the Inuktitut-language production of Samuel Beckett’s Waiting for Godot. Elaina brings decades of producing experience, strong community connections, and a deeply held belief that care should be at the heart of how we make art.
