Costume Co-Designer (With Tatinniq Idlout)
Charlotte has been a production, set, and costume designer for the past 40 years.
From large-scale and also immersive work in opera, Shakespeare, the classics, musicals, dance, and new Canadian plays, she has been pleased to collaborate with Michael Langham, Richard Rose, Stephen Schipper, Glynnis Leyshon, and Volcano’s Ross Manson, amongst others.
Favourite venues include The Four Seasons Centre Toronto, The Stratford Festival, The Shaw Festival, The Charlottetown Festival, The Belfry Theatre, The Blyth Festival, and The Royal Manitoba Theatre Festival. For Volcano, she designed the many costumes worn by Neema Bickersteth in her solo touring hit, Century Song (seen in 12 cities on 3 continents).
Born and raised on a fruit farm situated between Lake Ontario and the Niagara Escarpment, she will often return to that seminal base for inspiration in her work, be it colours, textures or forms.
Charlotte has been honoured with the Herbert Whittaker Award and with 5 Dora Awards for Costume or Set.
She is a graduate of York University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, and is a member of ADC 659.
