Niki harris
Niki Harris is a North American Engagement Policy Director at Quantum Security Defence, advising government, defence, and enterprise stakeholders on quantum security adoption and policy frameworks.
As an AI Policy Analyst at Canada’s Department of National Defence, she advised on AI ethics frameworks and autonomous systems governance, and led research on quantum-AI integration for defence innovation. She collaborated with NATO, Five Eyes, NIST, and MIT on international AI governance initiatives, including the U.S. Political Declaration on the Military Use of AI, and developed risk management frameworks for AI systems.
In 2025, Niki founded The Future Brief, a youth-led organization amplifying young voices in emerging tech policy across AI, quantum, neurotechnology, space, and blockchain. Through salon-style consultations and workshops, she has led youth engagement on impact on employment, elections, media literacy, and misinformation. She engages young professionals in responsible tech governance, creating policy recommendations and technical prototypes that position young people as current operators shaping technology rather than future stakeholders waiting to inherit it.
Niki is a Cansbridge Fellow and a 1834 Fellow, holding a degree in Public Policy, International Relations Security from Carleton University in 2025.
