Matthew Lella

Matthew Lella is a principal architect at Diamond Schmitt. He is most interested in spaces that connect people and so has specialised in the creation of spaces made for performance and education. 

 

His Canadian projects for the arts include the Toronto’s Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts and La Maison Symphonique at Place des Arts in Montreal. Internationally he worked on the Mariinsky Theatre in St-Petersburg, The Buddy Holly Hall in Lubbock, Texas, Memorial Hall in Marlborough, England and recently opened the David Geffen Hall at Lincoln Center. 

 

His work on spaces for learning include the Taylor Institute for Teaching and Learning at University of Calgary, the Bahen Centre at U of T and Lazaridis Hall at Sir Wilfrid Laurier.

 

Matthew has been a board member at Volcano since 2015.
