The EEAP is an Ontario-based incubator that equips multidisciplinary live artists with the practical skills, network, and business savvy needed to take their work on the road and lead the next wave of sectoral change.

About the Program

The Emerging Express Artist Program (EEAP) brings together a dynamic cohort of cross-disciplinary performance creators to explore the realities of modern touring. Designed for the contemporary artist-producer, this program bridges the gap between artistic vision and independent execution, empowering participants to thrive in a shifting global arts ecosystem.

How it Works

The EEAP balances collective community learning with independent project development:

  • Cohort Learning: Participants attend specialized, interactive and in-person workshops together, building a peer network and sharpening their critical arts-administration skills.

  • Independent Execution: While the learning happens as a group, you will work independently on your own small-scale project. Throughout the process, the Volcano network will offer ongoing support to help you refine your artistic vision, production logistics, and financial planning.

  • Real World Experience: The program will culminate with a showcase where the group will get the opportunity to pitch and share their projects with community and industry stakeholders.  

  • The 2-Year Blueprint: The program is deeply practical and experiential, ensuring you walk away with the concrete tools, resources, and strategies required to launch and tour your project within the next 24 months.

Applicants

The EEAP is open to live experience artist-producers from all disciplines and backgrounds. The only requirement is that applicants are mid-career live artists that have a project idea or concept that can be advanced through engagement with the program. 

Participants will be remunerated for their participation in the program.
