About Your Instructors
Alan Dilworth
Alan Dilworth is Artistic Director of Necessary Angel, known for his direction of contemporary tragedies and re-invented classics, helming over twenty-five new Canadian plays, including his SummerWorks Jury Prize winning The Unforgetting, Erin Shields’ Governor General Award winning If We Were Birds, Andrew Kushnir’s Toronto Critics Award winning The Middle Place, and Pamela Sinha’s multiple Dora Award winning Crash, and his staging of Edward Bond and Roland Schimmelpfennig masterpieces. These productions established Alan as a director of harrowing and humanizing works, known for their striking imagery and “operatic minimalism”. In 2013 Alan received the Christopher Plummer Award of Excellence.
Sabryn Rock
Sabryn is an actor, singer, and director originally from Regina, Saskatchewan. Recent directing credits include Shaniqua in Abstraction (Crow’s/paul watson productions), Truth for which she received a Dora nomination for Best Director (YPT), Sympathy for the Devil (Soulpepper) and Our Place (Cahoots/TPM). Sabryn has numerous acting credits in theatre, animation, film & tv and has narrated many audiobooks. She has been nominated for several Dora awards as an actor and won the Toronto Theatre Critics award for her work in The Royale (Soulpepper). She is a graduate of the National Theatre School of Canada, the Birmingham Conservatory and the Canadian Film Centre’s Actors’ Conservatory.
