Born in the City of Kings and Queen, Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. Teddy Masuku’s interests and love in the performing arts began at an early age, always engaged in school plays and events. Music and dance was and still is part of Zimbabwean culture thus that made him more engaged and involved. In 1997, Teddy took up dancing on a full time basis as a performer, drummer, singer and choreographer; working with different groups of that time and specializing mostly in traditional and modern dances fused with poetry.  During that period he toured extensively within and outside Zimbabwe with a dance ensemble called Hloseni Arts; teaching and learning more about Southern African cultural and modern dances. Since coming to Canada in 2004 Teddy has continued his passion for the arts; working and collaborating with various schools, organizations and individuals in and outside Toronto. Teddy Masuku is currently the Co-Founder/Artistic Director of Izimba Arts and Thendele Prints, a performing arts and design company.
