Karen is best known for her portrayal of Ronnie Lee - ‘the Pepto Bismol of Schitt’s Creek’. Schitt’s Creek has garnered award nominations and wins nationally and internationally, and has been named among BuzzFeed’s and TV Guide’s best shows of the decade. Karen can also be seen in a variety of other roles: Edwina Shanks in CBC’s Pretty Hard Cases, Aunt Cassandra in Hallmark’s Morning Show Mysteries, and Betty Lisko in Mary Kills People for which she won a 2019 Canadian Screen Award.

She has worked on stages all across Canada, playing roles from Shakespeare to contemporary comedies.  She has won a Dora in Toronto, a Sterling in Edmonton, and an NAACP Theatre Ensemble award in California. She is also a recurring guest star on the Netflix series Tiny Pretty Things, and appears as Leader Pav in Star Trek: Discovery.
