Leah Simone Bowen is a Toronto based writer, director, improviser and producer. Leah is currently developing an adaptation of Scott Joplin's Opera Treemonisha for Volcano Theatre. Her play The Flood will be published by playwrights Canada Press (2018) and she is editing Black Comedy an Anthology of Comedic Pieces by Black and Brown writers; she was an associate producer for The Luminato Festival and Cahoots Theatre and was the Artistic Producer for Obsidian Theatre from 2010 to 2014. Leah was a member of Second City Toronto's touring and education company and she is 1/3 of Soft Targets which was nominated for a Canadian Comedy Award in 2016. She is a graduate of the University of Alberta's Theatre Program, is a Dora Nominee for Outstanding Director and a recipient of the best Oprah Winfrey impersonator at summer camp. Leah is originally from Spruce Grove, Alberta.
