I am a scholar. I am inspired by African folktales; the juxtaposition of African Methodist Episcopal hymnals, filled with sixteen century sounds, given life by black american instrumentals and tongues. I am influenced by the ritual of liturgy, sufi writings; science fiction and afro-futurism. I am trained by avant garde directors, Viewpoints, a Shakespearean Dramaturge and by the work and lives of long -deceased, white men. I am a feminist leader, a creator and collaborative auteur American director and I love to hear the call.”
